When sequencing a personal genome takes less than a day and costs less than an MRI, how does that influence biomedical research, clinical practice and higher education? In this panel, we will discuss (1) the human genome project and the clinical sequencing effort, (2) the precision medicine initiative, (3) the role of computation and data science in these efforts, and (4) expected skills of a new generation of workforce.
